Forbidden Planet International (FPI) have a range of associated Companies using various trading names including but not limited to Forbidden Planet, Forbidden Planet Home Shopping (FPHS),  Sci-Fi Warehouse,  Forbidden Planet Blog or Magazine, Nostalgia & Comics, Worlds Apart, Another World, FPI Graphics, FPI Back Issues, FPI Role Playing Games (RPG) and FPI Magazine. The Forbidden Planet Websites, e-newsletters, Magazine(s) and Catalogue(s) operate independently from the Forbidden Planet Retail Stores.

FPI supply science fiction, fantasy and popular culture products primarily, but not exclusively, for Collectors, Fans, and all the delightfully offbeat humans happily subsumed by a sense of wonder in an age of cynicism.

Products, prices and promotions offered online, in print, other literature, and in the retail stores may be different and mutually exclusive.

On the websites and from other media including, but not limited to, catalogue(s) all orders are taken as a “request to supply”. Such requests include the obligation to pay for the goods.


Acceptable Use Policy


Forbidden Planet (FPI) is committed to providing a safe working environment for its employees and staff.   It is policy not to tolerate any incidents of harassment of staff or any individuals, including the posting of material on the website or social media, which Forbidden Planet deems is offensive, abusive, profane or hateful or which is threatening, or likely to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety. By using this website you agree to comply with the spirit and letter of this policy.

FPI will determine, at its discretion, whether there has been a breach of this policy, and in the event of a breach will take such action as deemed appropriate which may include:

immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded.

immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawl of any right to use the site

Issue of a warning

legal procedings for reimbursment of all costs on an indemnity basis (including but not limited to reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach

Further legal action as deemed necessary

Reporting the breach to controllers of other social media sites

Disclosure of such information to Law Enforcement authorities as FPI reasonably feel is necessary

FPI exclude liability for actions taken in response to breaches of this acceptable use policy. The responses described in the policy are not limited, and FPI may take  other action reasonably deemed appropriate.

Placing an order

Orders are placed on the system as request reservations with card payment details held by Sage Pay, or, if selected, payment details processed by Paypal.

Order acknowledgements are emailed to Customers. The order acknowledgement is not a guarantee to supply, not a contract, and it is not an invoice. Customers should always check their acknowledgement to ensure that their requests have been entered correctly.

You must be 18 years or over to make web, email and/or catalogue purchases. We reserve the right to accept or reject any order for any reason at our absolute discretion.

No Sales Contract is formed until dispatch of goods.

Each contract so formed is specific to the items shipped. Other open “requests to supply” orders will generate separate, individual, and unconnected contracts on the date each is dispatched.

Pre-Orders and Back Orders

Forbidden Planet Home Shopping (FPHS) carries extensive stocks, even so, many items offered through the websites and in print media are “Pre-Order”, or “Back Order”.

Pre-order products are those in design, the early stages of manufacture, printing or reprinting and transit. Where possible we shall indicate anticipated release, or arrival dates, (which are always subject to change). Manufacture and shipping is inherently flexible and subject to many a slip t’wix cup & lip (to coin a phrase). There is no guarantee that any anticipated release, arrival, or re-supply date(s) will be adhered to.

Therefore it is mandatory for the Customer to accept that any particular 30, 60, 90 day or greater window of delivery dates is subject to slippage or change We shall endeavour to advise all Customers of revised availability dates, but the dissemination of information is, as always, governed by Supplier information. Additionally, such items may also have limited production runs or be restricted in other ways.

Note that all images used on the site are representational.  Please do not assume that the image shown will be an exact likeness of the final product. 

Back Order products are items which have been in stock, have sold out, and are on re-order from the Supplier or Publisher. Back Orders are placed in good faith by FPHS and, in the main, are re-supplied to us within acceptable time frames. However, outside circumstances can intervene.

We shall always do our best to keep Customers appraised of any delay.  

When products do arrive they are normally shipped in geographic sequence e.g. UK, Europe, RoW, in the same sequence as orders are placed on the system, barring product limitations or other restrictions such as customer qualifiers, variations, or product quality which may create shipping barriers.  Customer demand criteria such as "ensure mint" "Triple package" etc are regarded as informal requests. They are not binding or mandatory.

As all orders are placed on the system as a “request to supply”, you can reserve your items safely in the knowledge that FPHS do not charge your card, or bank your cheque, until we have goods ready to ship. (The exception being Paypal which is a cash with order process.)

FPHS only charge cards for the actual item(s) being shipped plus postage (if applicable). Cheques are banked when one or more items are ready to ship. (We advise cheque customers who place multiple item orders to pay with two, three or four cheques so that they can be banked separately as goods arrive).    

Card Security when ordering through the website

When ordering, your card details are secure. Forbidden Planet Home Shopping (FPHS) does not keep your card data. FPHS use the services of payment service provider (PSP) Sage Pay. (One of the largest such organisations in the UK). PSP’s are Payment Card Industry compliant security organisations that offer fully secure facilities for the holding of Customer confidential data. At final check out on the FPHS website, when you are requested to confirm your order request, you are seamlessly transferred to Sage Pay where card details are entered once.

Sage Pay will pre-authorise the card for one penny (to prove that it is genuine) then send FPHS a secure, randomly generated access code. After the pre-auth, Sage Pay return you to the FPHS website, where you can continue shopping or log out.

Card Payment Process

When goods arrive and are ready for shipment, FPHS use the Sage Pay access codes to apply for release of funds, and then, only for the goods about to be dispatched and  postage if applicable

If your Card order is for several items shipped in different parcels over time , the contents of each parcel will be charged separately when ready to ship. The only deviation from this process is  postage which is charged in full relevant to the whole order request as a single item with the first parcel only.

Should any initial request for funds be declined, the Customer will receive a notification email.

The email will request that funds be made available, or alternate payment be advised, such as securely adding another card to SagePay.

The goods requested will be held, pending payment, for a grace period of 7 (seven) calendar days from the date of email notification.

If payment is not received within the grace period, or if the payment declines again,  the items requested will be returned to stock, and the unpaid order cancelled.

Paypal Payment Process

PayPal advertises itself as the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to securely pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.

Customers should note that when paying by PayPal the money will be debited from your account by Paypal for the FULL amount of your order, at the time of your order, irrespective of when the goods may be ready to ship. (See Pre-order section)

The PayPal service therefore, although extremely secure, is similar to, and handled as a cash transfer. In other words, Paypal is a cash with order payment.    

Product Information

We make every effort to obtain accurate product information including images, specifications and prices from our suppliers. We reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing, image, description or any other inaccuracy. We also reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order request based on any incorrect price, description or availability. Such corrections may be made even after an order has been acknowledged. If the price at which you have requested goods is incorrect you will have the right to cancel.

There is normally no minimum or maximum order.  But such may be specified or qualified in a particular promotion or offering. Some restrictions, such as, but not limited to, distribution rights and availability may also override.  For instance, certain items may have a restrictions imposed such as:  "one per Customer/Address/ max 2 per household"  and/or, specific or general geographic or regional areas, e.g. "UK only", or "Not available RoI".

Please note:  Should any Customer or Customer Group place order requests that FPHS deems breaches restriction rules, FPHS reserves the right to discard and ignore those order requests. By the same token, product quality, qualifier or variation demands may disqualify customers from receiving items that are limited, short shipped, or do not attain their demand criteria.

“Exclusives” are also items that may have inherent restrictions.   Geographical,  Regional, Numeric, or otherwise.  Some products are badged or stickered to indicate exclusivity, others are not.

For instance:   Each year at the San Diego ComicCon (SDCC),  artists, manufacturers and publishers, release what are known as SDCC exclusives.  Sometimes  SDCC items are stickered as “exclusive”, many times, they are not.  The exclusive stickering appears to be an arbitrary exercise in randomisation.

Many of the SDCC exclusives each year, are made available, or reserved for FPHS, by the Artists, manufacturers & publishers.     FPHS Customers who wish to order request such, and other exclusives  do so in the knowledge that, due to their random nature,  there is no guarantee or expectation that any particular exclusive supplied will be stickered. 

Some high value items are subject to a 15% non refundable deposit. These products are clearly signposted on the web site, and all Customers are requested to confirm their acceptance. Customers through Sagepay will have a 15% value debited on acceptance. Paypal Customers, because Paypal is a cash with order type payment, will have paid in full for the high value item. In accepting the 15% non refundable fee, Paypal Customers, should they subsequently cancel their order agree to have 15% of their order value withheld from refund.  

Ordering (General)

When making order requests on line, you are invited to create an account.  Account holders can check past orders and hold items in their shopping basket for possible future purchase. NB: such items are not “reserved”, they are a “wish list”  When converting a “wish list” into an Order Request, the price and stock availability of the items requested will defer to the Web Site pricing and stock availability at the date of order request. Credit Card customers. When items are shipped separately, cards are debited through Sage Pay only for the value of the goods shipped in each parcel. The exception is rolled up shipping. The full amount of applicable Postage on your whole order request is debited with your first shipment.  

All major Credit/Debit cards accepted via SagePay. Access, Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc.   

Ordering by mail 

Write up your complete order, along with FPHS stock codes, together with your name & address (include your postcode). Give a contact telephone number (if possible) and your e mail address (if applicable). Enclose the correct payment. By cheque or postal order and send to:

Note please that Pay Pal order requests are only available through the website.

Cheques will not be banked until the first available item on your order is ready to ship. We then have to bank your whole cheque. We recommend that cheque customers ordering a number of items to send in several cheques to cover their order. Which means that we can automatically stagger payments when items are shipped separately.

Cheques have to be cleared before parcels can be dispatched. Depending on the clearing banks involved, that process can take several days. Postal Orders, when used to pay for orders are treated as cash and banked immediately.    

If ordering for a special occasion (birthday, anniversary etc) please let us know the date. We shall do our best to meet it, but we do have to specify that we cannot be held liable if we are unable to meet the due date.

Applies only to new orders placed for Funko Pop! figures to be delivered to UK postcodes.  Note:  Excludes Pop Keychains and other Pop items.  The Funko Pop! £1.00 token shipping concession is at the discretion of FPHS and may be withdrawn at any time.

Please note that the Channel Isles are independent territories outside the UK and EU. Although they are UK postcoded, for shipping purposes they are Overseas

Customer requests for urgent delivery from stock, will only be accepted by email.  Accepted requests will incur extra fees dependent on circumstances and service required. They will be confirmed by email. Any extra fees relevant to an “urgent” request are not refundable should the goods be cancelled or returned. “Urgent” services are subject to availability. E.g. They may be suspended without notice, especially at very busy periods such as Christmas.  

Delivery Address: We shall deliver items only to the address given on the original order. Goods will not be delivered to dropship, pickup, accomodation, PO Box, parcel motel, hotel, other anonomised addresses, or addresses which in the express opinion of Forbidden Planet constitute an abuse of service.  

We use both Royal Mail & Couriers for deliveries. In all cases Postcodes and zip codes are required to track and deliver parcels. If you are unavailable to accept delivery, you will be carded by a Courier. If you do not arrange re- delivery with the Courier, and the parcel is returned to us we reserve the right to charge a reship fee.  

All electronic and digital products are specific to European Territories.

Delivery Period. If items are in stock then delivery is normally effected well within 21days.  

Items for future dated delivery are normally dispatched to arrive on day of national release. Other goods such as calendars, action figures, and tee shirts are shipped out to customers as soon as we receive supplies. If any item has not yet been manufactured, is embargoed until the release date, is currently sold out, re-ordered, waiting to be shipped, or in transit to us, then delivery time periods are variable. Where possible, revisions to release date information will be posted to the web site(s). We shall also endeavour to notify individual customers of any anticipated or known delays.  


Pre-Dispatch cancellation requests for individual stock lines can be accepted by email. Such cancellations do not become effective until you receive a return confirmation email of cancellation from Customer Service which will be sent to the email address registered on your account.   Please note that if the item is already within the delivery process, e.g. goods are being picked and shipped from the warehouse, then cancellation cannot be effected and returns procedure must be used after the goods have arrived.

If there is a problem with any of the items that you have received please contact us immediately, time is of the essence as we only have a very narrow window in which to effect returns or make claims.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel or return within fourteen calendar days of the goods being delivered. Under the Regulations the Customer is responsible for all carriage return costs. The cancellation period will expire 14 calendar days after date of delivery.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 there is a 30 day right to reject the goods if they do not conform to contract. The burden of proof is on the Customer to show that the goods fail to conform.

Date of delivery is defined within these Terms & Conditions as two working days after date of dispatch.. All online Customers are emailed with date of dispatch information.  

To exercise your right of cancellation/rejection you may use the “Model form” (which is available for use or download on the website) but it is not obligatory. Should you use the form FPHS will email an acknowledgement receipt.  The time periods mandated by the Acts are mutually exclusive and concurrent NOT consecutive.

You must inform us of your decision to cancel or return by clear statement before the mandated period expires: In all cases of a projected return you must notify us by email. Email with “return” and your order number in the subject line. . In all cases we shall give you a returns authorisation number and return instructions. Where applicable, we shall arrange for a courier pickup of the parcel. Smaller items can be returned using Royal Mail. All items must have a Returns Authorisation number, and must be returned within the 14 calendar days after date of delivery.  

All items must be returned in original packaging with all seals intact and in re-saleable condition. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 state that “If the value of the goods is diminished by any amount as the result of handling of the goods by the consumer beyond what is necessary to establish the nature characteristics and functioning of the goods, the trader may recover that amount from the consumer, up to the contract price” “Handling” in this context is specified in the regulations as …”that might reasonably be allowed in a shop”

Sealed packaged goods will not be accepted if the packaging has been opened and the contents exposed e.g. CDs, DVDs & PC / console games etc..  

Limitation of liability: Forbidden Planet shall only be liable to refund (where applicable) up to the amount paid (if any) by the Customer for the goods returned along with outbound postage (if any). Forbidden Planet are not liable for any other losses or compensation.  Please note that requests for reimbursement or replacement for packaging will not be accepted.  Replacement goods may be re-shipped in original packaging.   Re-imbursement will be made by the same means as payment was effected. All re-imbursements are in £sterling.

FPHS reserve the right of deduction under the Regulations for any diminution of value as a result of Customer handling, use, health protection or hygiene.

We may withold re-imbursement until after the returned goods have been received, or positive proof of dispatch is supplied.. Re-imbursement is normally made within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.    

Other Data

Order amends / changes / extra items. We normally process order requests in the same sequence as we receive them. Order amendments, changes and requests for extra items therefore have to be processed as new order requests. .  

Queries. Please allow a period of 14 days after receiving your order acknowledgement to check on the status of your order. Initially look on the website(s) for updates. When querying by email please have your acknowledgement number to hand along with your full name & address and customer number.

All prices are in £sterling and include VAT where applicable.

Ownership and title in the goods does not pass to the Customer until full, cleared payment has been received, and goods have been delivered.

The Freepost Service we offer is a letter service only. Any parcel sent to us using the Freepost service may be discarded or made subject to excess penalty charges by the Royal Mail. Should such a parcel be delivered to us by Royal Mail any excess delivery fees generated will be debited or invoiced to the Customer  

Please note that Forbidden Planet (FP) take their responsibilities for and to our Customers seriously.  FP is a Retailer offering individual purchasers interesting items of Popular Culture.   FP is NOT, and will not,  be party to any orders or requests that utilise any of the following types or methods of business, including but not limited to, third party supply, marketplace, drop ship, forwarding, consolidation, reship, multiple order aggregation, whether to single or multiple addresses, or any other similar type of operation. Accordingly, ALL orders that in the express opinion of Forbidden Planet constitute such an abuse of FP services will be summarily rejected and cancelled without redress.  FP also reserves the right to impose further sanctions if required. 

Overseas Customers

Forbidden Planet has always strived to ship collectibles to all our customers at the most economic rate possible. In fact over the years worldwide shipping has been heavily subsidised.

In the current economic climate, we can no longer continue to subsidise overseas shipping. As a result Forbidden Planet are suspending new overseas web order requests, until further notice.

Shipments to addresses outside the UK are sent, when goods are ready, shipping paid, as either full or part shipments. Overseas orders will ONLY be delivered to the Cardholder residential address or confirmed Paypal residential address.

Overseas Postage


In line with many Customer requests, Forbidden Planet have streamlined and changed some overseas postage requirements.

In the past ALL overseas postage has been charged in arrears at point of dispatch. That can lead to Customer frustration and delays to shipping, whilst emails are exchanged and postage payments collated.

Forbidden Planet now offer averaged shipping costs to Worldwide order requests for the popular Funko style of collectibles.

For Customers this offers greater transparency and less worry.

From January 15th 2018 Postage for Funko Single POPs and Two packs is calculated at checkout by Country.

The Rates are:

It is a rolling programme. So there are still ranges of items that will generate an e mail postage request before shipment can be effected.

There are two caveats. 

One:    Couriers surcharge what they consider to be "remote locations" which include but are not limited to:  parts of Scandinavia, Andorra and many mountainous & Island territories.  Therefore there may be occasions, when, even though the averaged postage has been paid, Forbidden Planet may have to request an extra ship fee.   Please note that all such requests will be at cost.

Two:  At Forbidden Planet's discretion, Countries,  where postal services are slow, inefficient, or ineffective, and/or they are strife or conflict areas, only Courier services will be used for delivery.

In such circumstances Customers will be informed of the Parcel shipping fee and will have seven days in which to agree or abandon.

Countries falling into the above categories include, but are not  limited to:  Turkey, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, much of the Middle East, & many parts of Africa and South America. Please note deliveries to some countries will require a mandatory tracking service to be used and charged.

Overseas Card Orders

We shall debit your card via Sage Pay with the cost of the goods and the shipping fee when goods are ready to ship.. In the case of small orders that process is automatic. With other items, for example, large, heavy or more valuable we notify you of shipping costs prior to shipment, and request that you authorise payment for shipping to be debited to your card. The Sales Contract created on dispatch of goods therefore includes your specific authority to ship. Any return request or subsequent cancellation will exclude the cost of shipping.

Overseas Paypal orders

For low value shipping costs we shall make a Paypal request for funds. With higher ship fees we shall notify you of the shipping cost prior to shipment with a request for payment through your Paypal account. . The Sales Contract created on dispatch of goods therefore includes your specific authority to ship. Any return request or subsequent cancellation will exclude the cost of shipping.

Please note that International Shipments are subject to Customs Inspection, clearance and possible allocation of excise duties. Forbidden Planet cannot be held responsible for any delays or fees imposed.

Gift Vouchers ordered through the website will be delivered automatically by electronic means to the email address you specify at time of order.

Gift Vouchers include unique numbers and character patterns.

If you are purchasing a gift voucher for another person, please forward the voucher to that person. We cannot accept responsibility for stolen, lost, or deleted Gift Vouchers. Nor failure of delivery due to spam filters, firewalls, mailbox capacity or any other reason outside of our control. Ensure that your recipient has received their voucher as it is their responsibility to keep it safe.

Orders purchased with a gift voucher will not be dispatched until payment of the voucher has been confirmed.

If you are purchasing a gift voucher to print off and give to another person, please check and verify that the person you choose has received the Voucher. FPI cannot be held responsible if a gift voucher is used by an unknown third party. In addition, we cannot accept responsibility for stolen, lost, or deleted Gift Vouchers, or any other situation outside of our control.

Site offers, promotions, and discounts do not apply when purchasing Gift Vouchers. e.g. a £20 voucher costs £20. Five £20 Gift Vouchers cost £100. Gift Vouchers are available in £10 and £20 denominations.

The Recipient of the Gift Voucher can create an account and redeem the voucher as full or part payment of products requested through NB: Gift Vouchers purchased online are only redeemable online. They are not valid in Store, over the Counter or at Conventions & Shows. More than one Voucher may be used on a single order.

All Gift Vouchers are dated and expire 12 months from date of issue.

A Gift Voucher cannot be used to purchase a further Gift Voucher

Gift Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

Gift Vouchers are single use and non refundable

Where order product requests made online with Gift Vouchers are subsequently cancelled or returned, any monies owing will be refunded by Gift Voucher
