Mome Winter 2006

Mome is the first all-comics literary anthology designed to sit alongside publications like Granta, The Baffler, McSweeney's, et. al, and is designed to appeal as much to fans of contemporary literary fiction as long-time comics fans.

This third issue of Mome will include the following: R. Kikuo Johnson (Night Fisher) makes his Mome debut; Paul Hornschemeier's Life with Mr. Dangerous, a full-colour narrative about a young woman who struggles to define a life outside of the example her mother provides, spending far too much time watching a cartoon called Mr. Dangerous; and David Heatley (Deadpan, McSweeney's) tells a story from the fictional town of Overpeck, a city he conceived in a dream.

The issue also features new work by Anders Nilsen (in full-colour), Jeffrey Brown (of Clumsy, Big Head!, and McSweeney's fame), Andrice Arp (Scheherazade), Kurt Wolfgang (Where Hats Go), Gabrielle Bell (Scheherazade), Jonathan Bennett (Esoteric Tales), Martin Cendreda and Tim Hensley. Mome is rapidly becoming the anthology of choice for discerning comic fans.
