Since 1993, Ciudad Juarez, a Mexican border city on the Rio Grande, has attracted global attention as the tragic scene of hundreds of feminicidios - violent and often unexplained murders of females aged 12 to 22. Many of the young women were found tortured, sexually abused, or disfigured; official figures estimate the murder count of these girls and women to be around 400, with some sources suggesting it to be more than double that. As of publication, many of these cases remain unsolved. This book imagines life amongst those real life events. Peggy hopes this book will help in the "fight against machismo and misogyny, there has to be a change of mentality".
