In 2210, raw recruit Danny
Franks joined the rag-tag guerrilla platoon known as Bad Company. They were led
by the psychopathic Kano,
whose brain had been experimented on by the evil alien Krool. The war ended
when Danny became the Krool Heart, the guiding consciousness of the Krool
Empire. Now tortured by guilt over what became of Danny, Kano is hoping to find peace at least – by
destroying the monster he helped create… Bad Company still ranks as one of the
all time best future-war stories in any medium in my book, gritty, twisted and
vicious and about as far from the Boy’s Own Adventure type war tales of older
comics and is cited by top SF and comics author Richard Morgan as one of the
influences for his award-winning Takeshi Kovacs character (last seen in Woken
Furies).
Peter Milligan is one of 2000 AD’s most prolific story creators and is the acclaimed creator
of Bad Company, Enigma and Skreemer. He is currently writing X-Statix
for Marvel Comics and for TV projects. Since his Future Shock debut in Prog 37, Brett Ewins has been one of the
Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’s most beloved artists. Amongst others Ewins has
contributed to Judge Dredd, ABC Warriors
and Rogue Trooper. Jim McCarthy is the co-creator of Bix Barton, The Grudgefather, and Kid
Cyborg for 2000 AD, but is
perhaps best known for his work inking the classic Bad Company.
