“Nightbus is Newcastle after dark, the stories that can’t bear to be seen in the cold light of day.
Conrad and César run the Newcastle University student safety bus, the service that takes students back to their halls of residence after a long night of studying or partying. For the past couple of years, Conrad and César have been taking the specifics of their job description a little further than necessary. What started off as getting people home, soon became getting people out of trouble. Now the pair have become the self-styled vigilantes of Newcastle.
In this long awaited final issue, we rejoin Conrad and César as Northumbria Police circle in on their nocturnal pursuits. Closer to home, their friends are no longer so thralled with their vigilantism and wonder how long a career such as this can last. Will the would-be protectors of Tyneside quit while they’re ahead? Or will the net close in on them before they get the chance to hang up the Nightbus keys once and for all?”
Okay, running out of available time before Thought Bubble this weekend, so a basic PR bit for this I’m afraid.
Gary Bainbridge is the artist on Sugar Glider, but before that series, he produced two issues of Nightbus, as written by Chris Jones. I’ve seen bits of Nightbus, and it does look pretty good, sounds pretty good as well. Now, launching at Thought Bubble we have the concluding third issue of the series.
You can get Nightbus Issue 3 from Gary at Thought Bubble, or The Canny Con in December. But if you can’t get to either of those, you can get the comic from Gary’s online store or from Comicsy as either a physical book or digital download.
